Even when the whole world around them is trying to steal their happiness. It is born again and again in a child's heart and, despite the horrors seen in the eyes, creates an infinitely bright universe where dreams come true. At least in dreams...
We have all seen how quickly our children become adults, how they act rationally when new air raid alarms are raised. How, looking at all the horrors of war, their eyes and voices become coarser. But every time, somewhere in their stone eyes, we still see a spark of hope.
And when else can children's dreams come true than on New Year's Eve? At this time, among the holidays of St. Nicholas and Christmas, children's imagination paints an endless picture of a dreamland with millions of billions of colors. It is at this time that the Charitable Foundation named after Alexander Lvovich Zholobov, a well-known artist in Odesa and beyond, traditionally holds a children's drawing competition with cash and material prizes for the winners.
This year's contest was held under the theme of «New Year's Carols» and, indeed, reached the national level. Hundreds of children's works from different regions of the country took part in it. Even children from the frontline areas sent their amazing drawings. Looking at these works, it is very difficult to remain indifferent. It seems that the children's imagination just descends on you with picturesque patterns of New Year's motifs. And the quality of the artwork makes it hard to call some of the works children's.
The culmination of the competition was the awarding of the winners, which took place in Odessa in mid-December. The charitable foundation, which was created by friends of Alexander Zholobov, who continued his life's work, once again presented a New Year's fairy tale for children.
Perhaps this is how, through small but constant deeds, we, adults, will be able to preserve the most important thing that children have — faith in a good fairy tale and the victory of light over darkness. This is exactly why it makes sense to do good deeds!
